Custom Channels grew out of SBR
Creative Media. SBR specializes in advising and consulting
radio stations throughout North America in Triple A, Adult
Rock, Alternative, Modern AC and Classic Rock formats.
The company was founded in July, 1991 as SBR Radio Company
by Ray Skibitsky, John Bradley and Dave Rahn. The three started
SBR (named after the founders three initials) after a long
tenure at KBCO, a top ranked station in Boulder/Denver and
a pioneer Triple A/Adult Rock station.
SBR founded, launched and operated from sign-on KXPK, The
Peak in Denver, as one of the first Modern AC/Adult Alternative
radio stations.
Following the departure of Skibitsky, Bradley and Rahn continued
as co-presidents as SBR Radio Company reformed as SBR Creative
Media in late 1998. This was the start of SBR's evolution
to best reflect our broader media activities.
Foreseeing the growth of digital audio and the integration
of the Internet into everyday life, Custom Channels launched
in 1999. After initial growth in the broadcasting arena with
side channels and HD-2 channels for hundreds of radio stations,
Custom Channels expanded its on-line music services with
custom audio channels for retail/restaurant in-store play
and business/entertainment web sites.
Both SBR Creative Media and Custom Channels are headquartered
in Boulder, Colorado, in a small, non-corporate, environmentally
conscious office where employees don't wear ties and the area's
best BBQ joint is next door. Bradley and Rahn are also radio
station owner/operators of KLNN Luna 103.7 in Taos, New Mexico.
