Holiday Music Channel from Custom Channels is a 24/7 All-Christmas-music version of your radio station streamed from your website from Thanksgiving to New Years. Since we handle all of the music licensing and technical stuff, it's practically turn-key - even if your station doesn't stream.
I already go "All Christmas" on the air. Why go "All Christmas" online, too?
Stations that go All-Christmas on-air should consider a Holiday Channel for a few reasons:
- To completely "own" the Christmas music franchise - on the air and on the web
- To block a format competitor from doing a Holiday Music Channel
- To capture the huge at-work audience where streaming is actually more convenient than radio listening
- To generate additional revenue through exclusive Internet stream-only sponsors
NEW! "REGULAR FORMAT" CHANNELS FOR STATIONS THAT GO ALL-CHRISTMAS. Where do your core listeners go when they get tired of hearing All Christmas Music on the radio? Probably to your non-Christmas music competitor, right? All-Christmas-Music stations should think about offering an Internet-Channel of your "regular format" (without the Christmas music).

Why would I want to direct my listeners online instead of to their radio?
Your station faces competition for your listeners' ears from a multitude of sources - especially during the holidays. If you have listeners who want to hear Christmas Music, chances are they know where to find it. Maybe it's their own CD's. Maybe it's your "All-Christmas-Music-All-The-Time" competitor. Maybe it's one of hundreds Internet-only specialty channels (Like Pandora).
Chances are, when your listeners want to hear Christmas Music, they won't be listening to your station.
With a Holiday Channel, you can tell listeners that when they want to hear Christmas music, that you've got them covered with music that matches their tastes and familiar personalities and imaging. Holiday Channels are one way your station can fight back and at least ensure that your brand, name and product are available to your listeners when they want to hear Christmas music - and so that they don't have to go someplace else to get it.
What can I sell on my Holiday Channel?
The more exclusive you make your Holiday Channel sponsorship opportunity, the more value it will have for the advertiser. We recommend that you sell a limited number sponsorship packages for the entire 4-6 week promotion period.
Here are some of the deliverables available to sell to sponsors as part of their Holiday Channel Sponsorship Package.
- Audio or Video Pre-roll that runs every time a listener accesses the channel.
- On channel ads - commercials that run in the stream itself. You can have as many or as few spots or spot breaks per hour, but we suggest no more than two spot breaks per hour and no more than two spots for any single sponsor.
- Billboards/mentions - short "live" reads with a sponsor mention that can run between the songs several times per hour.
- Visual Ad Tiles and links. A visual logo can be displayed on the player simultaneously with the sponsors commercial. This Ad Tile can link to the advertiser's website.
- Contests or database building. An on-channel contest could be promoted encouraging listeners to visit a website or sign up for a client database in exchange for a chance to win a holiday prize from the client.
