Custom Channels, a leading streaming music provider to thousands of businesses in the U.S. and Canada, has expanded its music programming team with the addition of radio industry veteran John Michael.

John’s extensive knowledge in selecting music and creating playlists comes from his years of being on the air and programming radio stations. He was involved in the operation of three of the most influential radio stations of the modern era: KROQ, AMP Radio, and Jack FM, all in Los Angeles.

Prior to working for the CBS radio cluster in L.A. for 15 years, as on-air DJ, record label/artist management/artist relations liaison, and brand manager, John spent a decade on the air and programming at WRXQ 96X in Memphis, WZRH in New Orleans, KFMA in Tucson and WAQZ in Cincinnati.

Our CMO Welcomes Him

“Custom Channels is growing post-pandemic. We have more businesses signing on, so we need more expert music curation,” said John Bradley, former radio program director and radio consultant; now Custom Channels Chief Music Officer. “It’s rare to find someone with John Michael’s passion for all types of music. His years in radio give him expertise to craft quality playlists designed to play in businesses. I know because I, too, made the transition from FM to in-store.”

“I couldn’t be any more pleased to join the team at Custom Channels. My skill set aligns perfectly! I’ve been very interested in streaming music for a long time,” said Michael. “Custom Channels is well-known for its innovative approach to providing expertly-curated music experiences directly to businesses and brands. I already feel right at home.”

He is currently the CEO and founder of Podcave, a software application that brings professional-grade tools and an easy-to-use workflow solution directly to podcasters. Michael will continue running Podcave along with programming music at Custom Channels.
